DU CBCS Rule for UG Courses Choice Based Credit System

Delhi University is all set to start new session for 2015-16 academic year from 20th July. DU is planing for apply Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) from this year. According to the official news sources there is a meeting of DU's academic counseling members on 13th July, this will approve new syllabus of 93 subjects. Varsity has prepared agenda for new scheme. All the changes will make under the CBCS Scheme. .

After the approval of new syllabus from academic council, this will further sent to executive council on 14th July 2015 and in the evening meeting of university court is held. Court will finalize and apply CBCS for new session. Students will study new syllabus from this session. More information about Choice Based Credit System Rule is given below:

Courses like Arts, Mathematics, Sciences, Music & Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce & Business, Applied Social Science and Humanities, Science, Inter-disciplinary and applied Sciences syllabus sent to university recently.

Member of Executive Counseling Dr. Ajay Bhagi told that, "UGC issued model syllabus on it's website and allowed DU to make changes upto 30% in syllabus. ". Syllabus for all courses prepared in very limited time period and university compromised with the education from these syllabus. 

Chief of AAD told that, "Semester scheme cover 20 to 22 papers but after including CBCS there will only 14 papers." This will directly affect the workload of college and university may kick Ad Hoc teachers. For skill based courses university need to recruit teachers from agencies. 

Credit scheme will affect all the language courses. All Honors Language courses may not further continue. Some of Academic and Executive council members are already against CBCS Scheme but as per the majority CBCS is almost passed. Choice Based Credit System will have grading system as A+, A, B+, B, C and Passing Grade.
